Michael Otoara Ha’apio
Mr Michael Otoara Ha’apio has graduated with a BA in Banking and Finance, Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance, Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Analytical Skills, Post Graduate Certificate in Financial Administration and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of the South Pacific. Currently he is pursuing his Master of Science (MSc) in climate change.
Research Interest Area
He was recently engaged as a principal researcher in a feasibility study on the potential socio-economic impact of a road construction (2012) in East Are’ Are, Malaita Province. Solomon Islands.
Further he was also engaged as a leading researcher in a research project which studies the private sector social and economic right of employees (2012) in the Solomon Islands under UNDP and ISSI a registered non-government organisation in the country.
In 2010 to 2011 he was a Business Mentor to the Duke of Edinburgh International Award- YFIN Solomon Islands. He does this voluntarily as an act of social responsibility to the communities, especially the youths.
Currently doing a research for the Master of Climate Change Program –The Socio-Economic Impact of the Government Spending in relation to Climate Change –adaptation Programs in the Solomon Islands. He wants know where the communities do develop from the adaptation programs implemented in the country and if not what are the issue preventing and recommend possible ways forward.
Future study, would want to do “study on carbon trading and Finance,” is it the way forward for the Pacific Islands?
